Steve Last
A UK resident friend who was lived in France many years ago has what she describes as a French "pension" fund she's like to close and get the money to the UK. I think is probably a Livret A account with La Poste. She thinks she may have to go in person to do this and close it, but for reasons of her own age and husband needing care she is unable to do so. I am trying to establish exactly what the account is and have seen some information indicating that a Poste Livret A can be closed by letter, but does anyone here have any relevant knowledge? alittlebitfrench
I don’t think anyone on this forum could answer your question. Very highly specialized. Google ‘expatforum’ and switch to the France section. Someone there might be able to help. It is a very boring French forum but they do have a good knowledge base for such things. They could help. DaveLister
Oh yee of little faith ALBF😀 It's perfectly possible to close a Livret A by post. If you follow this link it'll compose the letter for you ( you can copy it and send it yourself rather than use their service ). https://www.lettre-resiliation.com/guides/finances/cloture-livret-a.html

Bet Im right though. This is going to be a headache with La poste. Stick with it op. Don’t let them steal the cash with their incompetence. DaveLister
Funnily enough I use exactly this procedure to close an account with LBP less than six months ago. As they say, no problemo.
