anotherbanana
My Maizy is a lady dog. Is it still permitted to call her a b itch or has that word been taken over by the mob? My grandson says it is rude. Then there was Evelyn Waugh!
Lori
I've only heard breeders use the term b itch. Regular dog folks I talk with use the term male or female.

Loiseau
As she lives in France, she can just be a chienne. No problemo.
menthe
Indeed, Loiseau, sometimes I do say chienne but it never sounds quite "right" to me. Don't know why. It's like "cheffe" for chef and whatever the word is for a woman professeur. As most pet owners treat their animals like children, I suppose it's OK to ask if it's a boy or a girl. At least I think that's still acceptable because we haven't yet decided if animals can be bisexual, of indeterminate sex or any number of bewildering combinations.
NormanH
"Chienne" has unfortunate connotations that you can deduce from the American SOB
Le Petomane
The actor Jack Nicholson said his mother never saw the irony in calling him a sonofabitch.
