ALD questions

Recommended Posts

Two couples, both wishing to relocate to LBF but with pre-existing conditions. Two are EU citizens, two are legal spouses

Is it likely that ALD would be automatically granted to neurological/optical/oncological conditions? Specifically Eylea injections relative to diabetes.

This might not be an easy question to answer {Norman}? but any accurate guidance would be much appreciated. TIA

Your problem you or your friends have is finding specialist doctors who will accept you as a paitient. Their books are full.

The waiting times are long even if you get taken on as a new patient.

In IDF you could be OK.

It is the problem for everyone in France.

Dentist, cardiologist, dermatologist….you name it. People are traveling long distances to see specialists.

Dont kid yourself on this matter.

Type one diabetes (don't know about type two) and cancer are certainly ALDs, all approved treatment is paid for by the state.

ALBF is correct though, finding a specialist is sadly more and more difficult now.

There is a list of what illnesses are "allowed" for an ALD.  I once had a copy, but it is available if you want to search for it.  Your GP will ask for one if it is appropriate.  They are usually for conditions needing life long medication, but not all such illnesses are in fact covered eg high blood pressure, thyroid meds, most usually needing lifelong medication .. don't ask me how they decide what is an what is not ..
