Megan le Fey
Last year two really helpful English speaking tax inspectors visited my local tax office and went through my already completed tax return with me, corrected, to my advantage, one bit then just took it off with them - done and dusted. Today, I have just received an email from one of them telling me which days they will be in my area and offering to make an appointment for me. Now isn't that kind and helpful. Can't see anyone from HMRC doing that, can you?
Chrissie
Blimey, that's good. Can you ask them if they have a schedule and, if so, where we can look them up? Wonder if they, or others, are visting all areas?......Chrissie (81)
Megan le Fey
I believe that they visit all areas. Pop into your local tax office to find out the dates and make an appointment. They help all comers and there are usually large queues but if you have an appointment you jump straight in.
suein56
Crikey I wish I had known that when we arrived in 2005; I could certainly have done with some help then. It has taken me ages to come to (partial) connaissance of the French system. If it wasn't for the clever and knowledgeable bods on here I would probably still be in the mire. AnOther
I believe it's quite common for Impots staff to visit Mairies to advise individuals, they do in my village although I'm not sure about the English speaking angle. Thus far I have managed to complete my own returns without their assistance and expect to again this year.
