cassie
We have received a C. U. to convert an atelier into a house for habitation, but we are unsure whether to make it a house for ourselves( for when we move to France permanently) or a gite...which will very much affect the design. For how long does does the C. U last before we have to do something to stop it "expiring" and what, exactly is it that we have to do, e.g. submit a Permis de construire? Cat
A CU is valid 18 months, but it may be possible to extend it by a year.http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/particuliers/F1633.xhtmlGoogle English version
cassie
Thanks....but to what does the 18 months relate? ..........time before Permis de construire has to be deposited at the mairie.....or time to start the work on the project?......or something else?#Thanks
just john
From my own experience the CU is the first step and the time given is for detailed plans to be drawn up and submitted, if the person doing the plans is not able submit plans before the 18months is up they can apply for the extra time.
