Pommier
We bought a new house in August 2009 which had been completed 12 months earlier. It had been speculatively built as part of a small lottissement of 9 houses.I believed that we wouldn't pay TF until 2011, but have today received a bill for €253.Is this TF for the land? It's only a tiny plot.Does it sound correct? Thanks for any suggestions before I go and ask at the Tresor Public.
Pommier
I think I've worked it out (read the back of the bill!). It seems that Ordures Menageres is still payable even during the 2 year exoneration from TF.
idun
Have you had your 'big' bill yet? When we had our house built, I relentlesly asked everyone about what all the extras would be. No one told me about this one, the big one and the one we had not budgeted for. It is related to local taxes, and ours was called 'espace verts' or something like that, although I suspect it has an alternative name, like an equipement taxe. When ours arrived so unexpectedly and was around 10713ff in 1983 and I actually cried. We did get it down to about 6000ff which was still a fortune at the time with our 17odd% mortgage we were rather poor. You are right though, there is an exemption for a couple of years from taxe Fonciere with a new build. Pommier
Thank goodness, that bill wasn't ours but had been paid by the builder as it wasn't us that had the house built. We know lots of people for whom that bill (tax?) has come as a shock
idun
I didn't know that that bill went to the constructor, especially as it comes well after construction.
Pommier
I suppose it depends on what's agreed at purchase. Remember that it was the building company who would have applied for planning permission for the houses, as there weren't any buyers at that stage. idun
Just a question, but is this equipement taxe mentioned in your acte de vente? Just wondering!
Pommier
Yes, it was dealt with in the Acte (ie the total purchase price we'd offered was apportioned between the builder and the tax)
