under the cosh!
I have a joint account with my estranged wife, i need to cancel a 250 euro transfer to her friend, as it will tip and keep me in increasing overdraft. Can this be done without both parties signing, if so how? idun
There are two sorts of joint account accounts in France. If your account is marked EG: M Jean Pain ou Mme Marie Pain, the 'ou' means either can sign.IF it said EG: M Jean Pain et Mme Marie Pain, then the 'et' means both have to sign.So look at your paperwork and if you have one, a cheque book. Call your bank too, you will have to have contact with them anyway to cancel this.
Benjamin
A slight variation on idun's first example may be M ou Mme Pain Jean, but with exactly the same implication.
