Braco
Help please on how we go about setting up direct debit Taxe D'Habitation instalment payments. Is it possible to also pay taxe fonciere by instalment? Thank you
Tancrède
I popped into the local Trésor Public with a RIB and it took all of two minutes to arrange this for both taxes. (And indeed for income tax as well.)

P-D de Rouffignac
On the reverse of your current bill you will find the instructions about paying in 2010 by 10 monthly instalments but you must apply before 30 June 2010. For first payment starting in January 2010 you need to apply before 15 December 2009. See www.impots.gouv.fr . This is for taxes foncière - I don't have a taxe habitation bill in front of me at the moment but I think it is similar - certainly application well in advance for the following, as opposed to the current/past year, ie; you cannot normally ask to pay your current bill just received by instalments though there may be arrangements for people with hardship. Hope this helps P-D de R.
