Sharky24
We've been renting our French house for the past few years due to relocation abroad. The current tenancy is due to end in 6 months time and we are not planning to extend it as we want to move back into the house. I understand that "occupation" (by us or close family) is a valid reason not to extend the tenancy (to sell or breach of contract being the other two possible reasons). We're not sure how long we will stay back in the house and I'm trying to find out if there is any minimum re-occupation period that we have to occupy the house (after the tenancy ends) in case we decide to sell it? Depending on our circumstances we may decide to sell fairly quickly... Are these rules written anywhere or does anyone know? Thanks...
NormanH
https://www.anil.org/ has most of the regulations about letting, but I know of no regulation that prevents you from selling it once the let has finished. Whether there are tax implications around the sale may be another thing
