[quote user="John Brown"]Can anyone recommend any Life Insurance Cover that does involve handing over dealing with the funeral arrangments to a third party.

Thats the only form of Life Insurance CA, our bank and others seem to offer.

Hi,

Sorry, don't understand , do you mean "doesn't"?     And are you talking about assurance décès, rather than assurance vie ?

[quote user="John Brown"]Sorry I meant doesn't.

Its just normal life insurance with a payout when you die of natural causes / illness / old age

Hi,

Banks are not the best providers of any kind of insurance, what they are pushing to you, no doubt for large commissions , is "assurance obseques", which is a "funeral plan".

For normal UK-style life insurance "assurance décès" see this link:

http://www.assuranceviedeces.fr/category/assurance-deces

Make sure you pick a simple life insurance with no investment element as there are "combined" products on the market which are expensive , and neither good investments nor good life insurance.

John,

We have simple life insurance policies for the two of us from MMA. They pay out on death or terminal illness. The premiums vary according to age, whether you're a smoker, things like that.

Setting them up was very easy, and fortunately so far we've not had to see how good they are when we ask them to pay up!

Parnsips is right - ours are definitely referred to in the paperwork as "assurance décès"

Lou
