Listening to Radio 5 Live

I think I am right in saying that at times in the past, listening to Radio 5 football commentary has sometimes been blocked.

However, I tried again last weekend and again today, with success!

Does anyone know anything about what the situation is for French residents? Has there been a change in the rules?

To be honest I think they make it up as they go along - I sometimes try to listen to the BBC local radio station from where we were last in the UK - it can be blocked or not - "the usual "contractual reasons" recorded message.

I have no idea why and as it is the British Brainwashing Corporation I couldn't care less.

Try using a VPN if you've got access to one.

The whole 'rights restriction' opt out is done automatically and is as simple as someone in the office pressing a single key probably weeks in advance. Your unexpected commentary could simply be down to a typo. I would very much doubt there's anyone actually monitoring the overseas output specifically for rights breaches. Just enjoy it when it happens.
