But it can come as little surprise. In January of this year we read the astonishing news that the 'European Commission' had 'raided' AstraZeneca’s Belgian vaccine plant. Where did that power come from? As a Belgian friend said to me (in horror and antipathy), 'When did I vote for this?' If I had been the CEO of AZ, I would have p1ssed personally in the vats, and ensured that my security team was well prepared to give the 'raiders' a robust welcome and an even more robust expulsion. But we can generally rely on turkeys to vote for Christmas, nem. con.
anotherbanana
The Brussels leadership was not elected but chosen. Mostly it is a parking place for failed or second rate politicians to do the bidding of their national governments and earn huge pensions and the rest.

A shortage of magnesium from China has also become a major headache for producers of cars, planes and electronics. I wish the EU commissars the best of luck when they march on Bejing to "sequestrate" their rare earth metals. Where can I buy tickets to watch this live?
