The tax on sale of second homes changes yet again

This report in Le Figaro suggests that the old rule by which the  tax on 'plus value' of a résidence sécondaire was progressively reduced after 5 years to 0 after 15 years of ownership   is now being replaced by a new one in which the time is 30 years, rather than being replaced by a calculation based on inflation as previously reported:

"les plus-values issues de la vente de résidences secondaires et

d'investissement locatif seront exonérées au bout de 30 ans de

détention. Et des abattements, montant en puissance avec le temps,

s'appliqueront après cinq ans de détention."
