NormanH
As an offshoot of parsnips' thread onthe chenges to tax in 2011 I have made a simple spreadsheet tocalculate French tax due under the new method of using a system oftax 'credits' for UK Government pensions. Most of the 'brainwork' was done byTinabee :) It is only a simple version which takesinto account:Goverment pensionOAPOther French sourced IncomeTaxable savings interest It does not cover anything any morecomplicatedIt works in Euros, and the figuresentered should be gross amounts I know that this is not really themoment when people are interested in this, but I was otherwiseoccupied when the news of the changes came through,Those who have already received their« Avis » might llike to see if the results from this arethe same as the official version. If you play around with various figuresit clearly shows that Government Pensions are not taxed againin France, as somone with only a UK income gets a tax credit'equivalent to the tax due,What are taxed are things llikethe OAP or other French income,The Government Pension serves simply todecide where this tax falls in the tax band systemThe spreadsheet is available here:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuTBbphDzPcwdFlMX2l0cDdUQXUwYnFKVkQycWc2a1E&hl=en_USif it works I will update the taxbandsor next year when we know them,
