Jongleur
Hi Jongleuse here,We went to the Cognac air show yesterday (cunningly disguised as the open day for air base 709). What a good day out for 5 euros each (take plenty of drinks and nibbles though as of course they charge a fortune for those.) With the lovely weather, everyone ended up with slight sunburn/windburn and maybe even some afterburn from the Mirages!!They had quite a number of air display teams: Morrocco, Swizterland, Italy, France of course and the Red Arrows as well as all the other fast and furious planes and demos.A good day out although cheaper if you parked on the edges of the surrounding vineyards with your picnic for the day!! Or, as some people not far from where we live did, get your deckchairs out and invite the family to sit in the garden looking down and across to the air field!!I of course had fun watching all those men in uniforms!!! The eldest is now keen to join the French airforce and the little one had fun with his paper plane made by Jongleur - it whipped passed a few French noses!! Jongleur of course gave his "interesting" commentary on the various nationalities and dreamt of being younger, slimmer and a fighter pilot!!Well worth a day out, so if you missed it this year, do go next!!Jongleuse
Saira
I'd like to have gone but had to work.I don't think it is always held in Cognac though and so it might well be somewhere else next year.
