John P
We are currently thinking about purchasing a property in the area surrounding Parthenay, with a long term view to move out permanently after retirement (I know - a usual story!!). We are just after some general advice on the area - things to do, facilities, what are the authorities like to deal with and what the year round weather is like. We have two boys aged 11 & 9 so ideas to keep them occupied would also be welcome ( anything to wean them off PS2 & the TV!) Basic stuff I know but any advice would be appreciated! Many thanks John and Lynda
ChezShells
HiHmm, can't help with the authorities, plenty to do, lots of nice villages, lots of options for shopping, good for cycling, think Parthenay is games capital of europe so not much chance of getting them off ps2, they have a games fest every year.Weather wise, we have been here for 12 months, plenty of dry days, had a cold winter but a short one although new year was mild and had a T shirt on outside, went v cold end of Jan and warmed up in March, had v warm days in last month - 2 months up to 34 degrees. Good luck
