Chateau Toombs
Fay
Hello Fay here My family and I will be moving to france as soon as we sell our home and I was wondering about paint and wallpaper, Do they sell Dulux paint ? if not what is the equivalent ? is paint and wallpaper paper expensive? Is it worth buying it before we move with the good offers on at the moment could buy half a doz very large tins of white emulsion you know the 7ltr tins, I'm not worried about transporting them over just the inconvenience of looking for the best paint possible. We will be moving to the Charente area so any suggestions would be helpful. Many thanks
Gunner
Hi Fay, Would definitely recommend bringing paint and wallpaper with you. Paint is not cheap and not particularly good quality. Also you cannot buy linning paper out here (so I've been told by a decorator). If you've got the opportunity to buy it on offer as well in England, I would go for it. Good luck with the move! Teamedup
Dulux is Dulux Valentine and for coloured emulsion is from 30-43 euros for 2.5 litres. I think it is very expensive. There is a better selection of wall paper in the UK and I'm pretty sure that is cheaper too.

Gunner
We bought our Dulux and Johnsons trade paint from the English stall at St Jean D'Angely market. They didn't have it on display but have a huge amount for sale at a very good price if you can go and collect it the next week.
