Water Survey (85)

Has anyone received a survey from the Maire regarding water usage and filteration, title Enquette Assainissement ? 

There are some questions we have no idea about the answers.  For example,

date of fosse installation,

how it filters    sand drainage horizontal or vertical

cubic metres of toilet water that goes into it

I'm assuming that the french villagers won't know all the answers to this survey either, as we're not there at the minute I can't ask them.  I have no idea how to find out this information .

We had one of these a while back. We have two fosses on site: one

serves a gite only, is brand new and we could give chapter, verse and a

copy of plans to the mairie. The other, which serves our own home, we

had absolutely no idea about, or even its exact location, so we wrote a

letter explaining this (including the fact that we had had no problems

with it) and enclosed that with the questionnaire.

Some months latter a very chipper young man turned up with our

questionnaire and a copy of the letter. He said that this sort of thing

was all quite normal, but it was likely that we would be required to

empty the fosse every four years if it were of the old design, poked

around somewhat half heartedly and said everything seemed to be fine.

We've subsequently located the hatch and had it emptied (€130) and have heard nothing further.

Appearantly there was a plan to have every commune with more than 30

inhabitants put on to mains drainage by the end of 2005. This has now

been shelved.

Same here, but we have now received a bill for 60 euros per year for inspection of the fosse. Do we request mains drainage?[:D][:^)]
