poppet
Hi, As I understood it, if you are under the AE scheme you dont have to pay this for first coulpe of years. Had an informative email today confirming this too. My hubby closed down is previous business (not AE) and opened a new one under the AE scheme. Should he still qualify to not have to pay this bill does anyone know? He has recd a bill but I will go and ask at the tax office if anyone thinks, like me, this is wrong. idun
If he changed it during 2011 it wouldn't surprise me if you had to pay for 2011. Some things are dependant on what you were doing on the 1st January. And like you, I would go and ask anyway.

Albert the InfoGipsy
The rule, as I understand it, is that if you move from another regime to AE, with the same activity, then you don't get the exemption. For example, if you are a réel doing carpentry, stop that and start an AE as a potter then you get the exemption. Switching to AE as a carpenter you won't.
