[:-))] Yup! Melle was the bastion of entertainment when I was a kid on holiday at my grand-parents who lived about 5 miles away. Every Friday Grand-Father would put on his Sunday Best and take Grand-Mother and us the kids to the market! There we would meet our uncles and aunts and cousins.... Real sophisticated treat ... [:D] Many memories I have of the place.... Last time I went through the town I noticed that the roman column was standing proud on a round about all to itself! It used to be just there in the ditch and a favourite spot for Mr Gendarme to look out for speeding cars..... Speeding in a 2CV??!! Ah..... the 60's!
