Frogslegs
Thinking of visiting Thouars for a night or two with the caravan. Is there much to see? I understand there is a good market on the Friday.
Twingoman
I've been to Thouars market on a couple of occasions and it is well worth a visit. Town is a reasonable size as well.
woolybananasbrother
Apart from that, the town is dying slowly and painfully because there is no reason for it to exist any more. Like so many towns east and west of there. Apart from the market, there is a fortress and that is it.
mint
Oh, Wooly, I did like Thoars the one and only time we stopped there for a half hour or so on our way to somewhere else. And do you know what Parthenay is like? Only saw it from a distance. In those days, we were househunting and had appointments all over the place and didn't realise what a vast country France was! Dull or what? woolybananasbrother
Bloody awful places the pair of them. No reason to exist any more. Get out of that part of Deux Sevres and go either south or north.

Twingoman
I disagree about Parthenay - I actually quite like it.Ok, the town centre is dying a slow death (loads of empty shops when I was last there in March), but theres probably enough sights to cover an afternoon visit.
