nephilim
Hi all,We have recently moved into dept 17 from 79, does anyone know where we have to go to change over our car's number plates and get the carte gris updated.?Saintes would be closer or do we have to go to La Rochelle? Anyone done this and does it cost as much as when we originally bought the car (quite a bit for a Laguna)? Thanks
Clair
According to the préfecture website, you should be able to do it in Saintes. No idea of costs, but bear in mind which day you go for your carte grise: Les coordonnées de la Sous-Préfecture de SaintesAdresse : Place du Synode - BP 325 - 17108 SAINTES Cédex Téléphone : 05.46.92.37.00Télécopie :05.46.93.22.32 Secrétariat particulier : 05.46.92.37.02 Accueil du public du lundi au vendredi, de 09h00 à 11h30 et de 13h00 à 16h00, sauf l’après-midi du dernier jour ouvré du mois pour le service des cartes grises. Clair
Here is a useful website to help you find out how much it's likely to cost: http://www.carte-grise.org/tarifs_cheval_fiscal_par_region.htm
Nell
We moved from dept 46 to dept 24 and had to change registration on the car. The only cost was the price of the plates at Norato (spelling could be wrong!)
AnOther
I wonder what the justification is for the wide differentials between departments, and such odd amounts too e.g. €29.73 and €31.58 [8-)]Perhaps €44.40 in Provence/Cote d'Azure and €46.15 in Ile de France are clues [blink]
Iceni
Probably round amounts in Francs - can't be bothered to work it out myself but someone will.John
nephilim
Thanks for the replys, would be good if we can sort it out in Saintes. But have I translated the above correct and took it to mean that we can only change our carte gris on the last business day of the month?
Maricopa
Accueil du public du lundi au vendredi, de 09h00 à 11h30 et de 13h00 à 16h00, sauf l’après-midi du dernier jour ouvré du mois pour le service des cartes grises.
Surely this says that the public are welcome at the above opening times, but if you want to use the service des cartes grises, you can't do this on the afternoon of the last working day of the month.[8-)]
zeb
It's free!We recently moved from 16 to 31, completing the form at the sous prefecture in St Gaudens and receiving the new cartes grises for two vehicles took five minutes.I bought the new number plates at Feu Verte, they where 12.50 euros each with a 10 euro fitting charge for each vehicle, but they fitted the new plate to the trailer for nothing.
