Edward Trunk
I have to drive up to Roscoff on Friday from snow-free Herault. What are the roads like at the moment? Are the passes open? Will I get through? What should I bring to propitiate the natives?
woolybanana
The Pashtoun tribesmen are taking potshots at Brit number plates and the wild Gascon farmers are kidnapping the women to rebreed the stock. Better stay home, unless you wanna offer up your women as sacrifices, though they might appreciate the local lads - big and lusty so they say![6]

cooperlola
Everything frozen solid here but even our little back road is passable. The main roads are fine and I got back home from Le Mans yesterday without mishap. Lots of ploughs and gritters out and about round here. Which route do you take, Mr Trunk? Edward Trunk
I am overnighting at Niort (which I understand is the epicentre of the French insurance industry - why?) and then Nantes and Rennes, I suppose. Will I get through? For God's sake, tell me the worst. Bubbles, thank you for your good wishes. Mrs Trunk sends her best.

Sunday Driver
I'm driving back to Deux-Sevres from Strasbourg on Saturday with my new car and I've been checking out the road network on Bison Futé for local traffic conditions. Meteo France forecasts rain for the weekend in the North East so with a bit of luck, any remaining snow should have gone by then.I've also been checking out the webcams which are situated on some of the autoroutes and which give a good real-time view of the conditions.http://www.bison-fute.equipement.gouv.fr/diri/Accueil.dohttp://www.autoroutes.fr/preparez-votre-voyage/webcams.html

Edward Trunk
We are sailing on the "Pont Aven" tomorrow night and Mrs Trunk is worrying what to wear if we are invited to eat at the Captain's table. She hasn't packed a cocktail dress. Any suggestions? Anywhere in Roscoff that sells cocktail dresses late on Saturday nights?
