LesWeb Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 The festival Neuvil'en Jazz takes place next week in Neuville de Poitou (15km north-west of Poitiers). This year's programme comprises three nights (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) of free "apéro concerts" in the Neuvil'en Jazz Village, place Aristide-Briand. Refreshments are available, including a special festival menu concocted by the gastronomic, Michelin-starred, restaurant le Saint-Fortunat. On Friday and Saturday nights there will be special open-air concerts by two of France's most acclaimed jazz groups, Les Doigts de l'Homme (jazz guitars played manouche-style) and Pink Turtle (who mix pop and jazz with a big dose of humour), respectively. These will be staged in the Majestic gardens adjacent to the Jazz Village. Tickets are priced at €20 and can be reserved at Neuville's Tourist Office on 05 49 54 47 80 (English spoken).The festival concludes on Sunday with another free event - a "Picnic in the Park" from lunchtime onwards, accompanied by more live jazz.
