LesWeb Posted July 23, 2014 Share Posted July 23, 2014 The festival Neuvil'en Jazz starts tomorrow (Thursday 24 July) in Neuville de Poitou (15km north-west of Poitiers). This year's programme comprises three nights (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) of free "apéro concerts" in the Neuvil'en Jazz Village, place Aristide-Briand. Artists include Sweet Mama, Pacific Big Band, Jeremy Bruger Trio, and Swing House Quartet. Refreshments are available, including a special festival menu concocted by the gastronomic, Michelin-starred, restaurant le Saint-Fortunat. On Friday and Saturday nights there will be special open-air (weather permitting) concerts. On Friday night, the renowned trumpeter Stéphane Belmondo will be playing, and on Saturday it's the turn of the female vocal group Doodlin'. Tickets are priced at €20 and can be reserved at Neuville's Tourist Office on 05 49 54 47 80 (English spoken), or purchased on the day.The festival concludes on Sunday with another free event - a "Picnic in the Park" from lunchtime onwards, accompanied by more live jazz (Jambalaya and Voodoo Skank).
