Hibou Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 This was mentioned a few years ago. I have been trying to get an answer from different professinal sources but no-one seems to have the answer. The tax office says they will have to research it. We know a war pension is tax free in UK. Does anyone have first hand experience of this? Would be grateful for any help. parsnips Posted April 5, 2012 Share Posted April 5, 2012 Hi, According to the Double Tax Treaty- see here; (sec 19 para 4 (b))www.hmrc.gov.uk/international/france.pdf War pensions which are tax-free in the UK are also tax-free in France; In effect , they need not be declared in France.
