Where to Buy Trees in 32

Anybody know of a good stockist for trees in or around the Gers. I am looking for somewhere that does reasonable size trees, 2m+, as we have an area that we want to plant and establish quite quickly. Obviously we have looked in the obvious garden centres, but wondered if there were any more specialist stockists in the area. As always we want to keep the costs manageable...

We often buy from a local agricultural college. Have you thought about looking at one of these, they usually sell to the public. And in the yellow pages you should be able to find local pepiniers. Where ever you buy make sure that they give a guarantee for a year or two, all decent places do.

have you heard of "La Salicaire", the assciation botanique de la vallee de la Garonne.

and they hold plant sale days, amongst other things.

I have a list from them of good local pepinieres.

Also, if you are over toward the Haute Garonne, there are excellent plant/tree sale days at St.Lys in the spring and St. Elix le Chateau in autumn.

All our advice said to buy small, as trees will settle in much better and soon catch up with - even overtake - their bigger cousins, if they are happy.

There's a very good garden centre on the N21 on the Auch side of

Mirande 32, on the left going north. They usually have a good selection

of trees of different sizes but may be a bit expensive. Also there may

be a better selection in Oct./ Nov. Pat.
