New forum covering Lot et Garonne, Dordogne & Gironde

Recommended Posts

Hello to all

I have helped to set up a forum for local matters in the Lot et Garonne, Dordogne & Gironde area. I hope you will have a look and perhaps contribute to help develop this local resource for discussion, chat, local venues , classified ads and what not.

Like any new forum it can only grow if you give it a chance. Please give it a try on the link in my signature.

Thanks to everyone.

Hi Bryan

Thanks for the information.

I have tested the links on the post and they seem to be slow. For me, the link in the body of the  text seemed slower so I lremoved that one left the link in the signature.

I will monitor the situation and if it proves necessary seek help from my web host.

Well done - excellent.

I have felt for some time that the geographical area covered under

'south west France' by Living France is quite large - but then so is

France !!

However, the information on 'south west France' is really excellent

over a very wide range of subjects and I have found the site to be

immensely helpful; particularly so when the birds are migrating

north/south - early warning signs from other 'birders' is much

appreciated and shows how useful a site covering such a large area can

be.

But - having recently moved from the UK I am missing -

Car Boot Sales

Auctions - of any type

Flea Markets

Yes - I'll admit it - I'm a magpie !!! Having 'down-sized' and 'cleared

everything out' - I'm starting again - much to poor other half's great

dismay....

I have found that, unless one is close to a fairly large town it is

very, very easy to miss any 'special' event that might be taking place.

I'm sorry 'Living France' - this isn't a criticism - but this other

site has put up a list of markets, not all of which we knew about, and

details of flower festivals and flea markets - yippee, yippee,

yippee......!!!!!!!!

Hello Orion 2

I'm also having problems 'logging-on' - cannot access your site at all;

even by exiting Living France web-site and trying

www.aquitaine-people-and-property.com - I'm not having any success. Get

message along the lines 'URL couldn't be found...etc..'

Where are you ??

Hi Chessie

I have tried logging on a few times myself during the course of the evening and sometimes it didn't work. For some reason the site was not responding. I will check with the web hosts to see if the server was down at all.

The 'full' website for the area which will include the forum is under construction and I hope to go live soon. Any suggestions or contributions are welcome.

Can I say I fully intend to stay with Complete France as it is in my view 'the forum'.  A local forum can successfully deal with local matters on a scale that is not IMHO really suitable for a site that emabraces the whole country.

Hi everyone. The Aquitaine People & Property forum has been relaunched with a new name, "In Aquitaine", new software and most importantly a new web host which so far  has served us well.

The experience of a terrible web host is one we hope to never repeat - the service and problems were incredible. In the end we have given up trying to transfer the old database and just started afresh.  Sorry for the lost postings to all concerned but it seemed the only way to cut the Gordian knot.

Please join in and make this local forum a success.

Bill
