Dave
Thought this may be of interest, I was passing on my way to Brive this morning and stopped to take this picture from the N20 of the work in progress for the new Brive Airport. I will find it very much better depending where the carrier flys to in the UK? if anyone has any info on that?best regardsDave

sasfields
Still looks like a nasty scar on the landscape to me... but it WILL be helpful for us too - guess there's a bit of the NIMBY in all of us....
WJT
To be honest, I can't tell whether they are making progress or not. The official site http://www.aeroport-brive-souillac.com/ appears not to have been updated since October 2005. On the website are photos of the work that was taking place at that time http://www.aeroport-brive-souillac.com/page_l%27a%E9roport_h%20Evolution%20du%20chantier.html. I really don't see the difference. It just looks like the ground has been cleared for ages and to date nothing has been built.[:(]
