Colin
I am planning to buy a new portable radio when i am in France next weekend . I have had great difficulty getting any BBC stations on my small radio so far in Pyrenees Atlantiques . Do i have to buy a radio with shot wave to get BBC stations such as world service ?? Thanks Colin
Bob T
If you have a sat dish with a UK digibox, you can get all the UK radio stations on that. I think that you would need long wave to use a normal radio.
Mauhoum
Even better, buy a French sat dish and box from Brico Depot for only 70 Euros, and get all the UK radio stations, plus all the 'free to air' telly (if you want that too) Tony
Pierre ZFP
Listen to Auntie Beeb ont' Internet, then you get what you want when you want it. For portable. World Service broadcasts throughout Europe on 630 metres medium wave and you can get the BBC Home Service, err, sorry, Radio 4 on 198 metres Long Wave. I think it is/was re-broadcast from somewhere near Bordeaux for a stronger signal.
