The limit on Livret A savings is going up

It was promised that it would double, but this year it will go up by 25% immediately to €19,125 in place of the present €15,600, and there will be a further rise at the end of the year to €23,906

There has been some concern that this often short-term saving could take money away from the longer term savings such as life insurance which tends to fund business, which may be why the limit is not being doubled as previously said.

The Livret A is one of the few untaxed savings, although there was some talk of imposing CSG on any interest on savings above the €15,600 old limit.

Nothing of that is mentioned today so far
