Piprob
Need to buy a selection of these for the new house. Electrician does not want the hassel - and who can blame him! Anyone know somewhere with a reasonably wide selection reachable from Quillan?Rob

Rob[/quote]If you do not mind a bit of a drive, Bauhus(?) a large brico just south of Gerone(a) have a very good selection at good prices and the bulbs are much cheaper than in France. Hegs
I drove past this place in Carcassonne a couple of weeks ago, it was really big. Lumi 11, www.lumi11.fr, ZI Salvaza. Worth a try.
opas
Rob, can`t tell you the name(cos I dont know it!!!!) but you know where we had a meet in perpignan, If you make your way down that main road in the direction of Castorama...on the oposite side of the road there is a HUGE store (which is similar to blackpool illuminations ....without the colour!) On the same side as BUT ,but lower down. Mr O would probably tell you all the road numbers and rue de whatsits etc.Heaven help me next week ,I amheading to blighty with the girls and hiring a car from gatwick to oop north.....just stick me on a motorway with a signpost for Leeds! Piprob
Big thanks!I knew I could count on you.Rob(PS. It's been pretty quiet round here recently, and I don't think it's just me; very little from Quillie - assailed round the clock by beasts of one kind or another. Even dun runnin's done a runner. Maybe everyone's saving up the really brilliant postings for the winter! Thanks again.)
Joh
We were not posting as we were en maison sans internet......Loverrrrly weather, even better smell driving through Maury, can almost get drunk on the fumes... Saturday got to 34.4 in the sun on balcony, Sunday drive back to GB, Left maison 8.30....Home(GB) 23.50. Un accident Nord Limoges no problem... M25 p£^si^g , abondance de pluie a M25 Un autre accident slowed us down a bit. Chasse on Saturday , three boar and one deer, heaviest boar was 89 kilo's, went to hunter's lodge to watch them (next bit not for the feint hearted) hanging the boar by the back legs over a bucket and all the hunters joined in by sharpening their knives on a treadle stone and skinning the boar... At least they eat what they kill here. Nice to see the huntsmen wearing brightly coloured caps amongst all their camoflage gear! Accidents happen! Glad I got up to late to look for Cepes.Terry
Quillan
Hellooooooo only meeeee.Busy 'doing' things round the house plus the painter never turned up, won't be using him again. The place in Carcassonne and Perpignan are the same company. We went there and found them a tad expensive and ended up buying in Leroy Merlin in Perpignan. To get to LM you drive STRAIGHT through the centre of Perpignan and STRAIGHT through the comercial zone where all the big places are like Butt etc for furniture and appliances. The Illumiar place in about halfway down this road. To get to LR carry on and drive across the big roundabout and turn immediatly right in to the slip road for the carpark. Now you can spend the next hour finding a parking space. You could have a look at castorama and have them delivered via the internet, after the first delivery you get a email giving you a discount and a code to use for free delivery (well I did so there). zeb
Most of our light fittings (not wall lights) have come from Ikea as they are soooo expensive to buy in French lighting shops, even LM.I bought some of our wall lights via ebay - French (provencal) wrought-iron candle type lamps and sconces but my favourite wall fitting (just an ironwork shade thing) came from a craft type shop in Minervois. Throws out wonderful shadows on the landing (but not much good as a reading light!).helen
