Un acompte for french tax

Much to my surprise a demand for un acompte for french tax arrived today. I have spent an hour or so calling and calling to ask why, as I had let them know that we only pay UK tax now.

Should use my little brain more, the fonctionnaires are en greve today nez pah, so I have wasted a lot of time for nothing. So tomorrow it is, hopefully they won't be doing a 'pont' and having Friday off too![:-))]

Foolishly, I tried the all Centre de Non-Residents numbers I have, and the general Impots numbers I could find and all I got was recorded messages telling me to look on the internet. So if there was anyone working, they were not answering phone calls.

Just seen the fonctionnaires on the news, they want a pay rise and are not happy about any first sick day  being unpaid.

I'll risk it tomorrow and get up early and call as soon as they open. I would like someone to actually agree with me that there is no tax to pay, and no acompte, as we pay in the UK now.

Well there you go, expect to be on the phone trying for hours on end and then getting someone who hasn't a clue and it doesn't happen.

The phone didn't even ring a full ring, someone answered immediately and they knew what they were talking about, told me what to do and that was it. I've sent a copy of the form back saying that there is no tax to pay for 2012 and so no acompte. And if we get a declaration des impots form later, to do the same again, and they would take us off their books........ wonderful. One less thing to do.
