Jonzjob
We are planning to go for a trip on the Little Yellow Train in September and instead of up at the crack of sparrowfart we intend to stop overnight at Villefrance de Confluent. Can anybody recommend a chambre d'hôte in the town please? It will have to be a place that will accept dogs and before any of the comedians say anything dogs to stay with us and not in part payment [:D]
Pickles
Sorry, I know it's an old thread but in case anyone is planning to go on the little yellow train, according to Midi Libre, as of today, (9/9/10) le petit train jaune is not running until they have sorted out a problem with abnormal wear on its axles. There is no date as yet for the resumption of the service.RegardsPickles

Jonzjob
Don't I get a PM to if you are in our area too Pickles? We would have to have curtailed our trip this autumn because we have had a problem with our lovely chockie Labrador! Neck and back problem, so we hope to be on the renewed Petit Train in the spring time??? Please!!!Ever tried to give a 12 year old lab, who thinks that she is still a pup, the equivalent of complete bed rest for 3 weeks? More impossible than difficult[:-))]
Polly
Even worse than bed rest for a 12 year old.... we had a 10 week old chocolate looney who broke a front leg!The train is FANTASTIC, the views are stunning on a clear day, but do take jumpers if you're going to sit in the open carriages. Pickles
Apparently the train is now working to a reduced timetable ...RegardsPickles
Pickles
Apparently the train is now working to a reduced timetable ...
And it's been suspended again. The problem seems to be linked to defects in a system which greases the inside of the outer rail on curves to prevent wear...RegardsPickles
