Quillan
I need an EDF engineer to come and have a look at my meter, I think it has a problem. I see there is a shop in Carcassonne, is that who I should call or is there another number for the department Aude?
BJSLIV
The number to call is on your bill. You will need your account number too.
Quillan
Thanks but if it were only that easy. Phone the breakdown service, went through numerous press 1,3,2,5,1 things typed in my account number at which point told me I had the wrong number and that the right number to call was on my bill. To cut a long story short I went through three numbers before being told to go back to the first. Got my French neighbour to try just in case I made a mistake as they talk very fast and she got the same run around..
pachapapa
From our hamlet someone just phones the ERDF linesman directly on their mobile. One must work harder at polishing up one's "reseau".

Hereford
Are we right in thinking that this English helpline number is for use only by those who live in the 05 telephone area? Does anyone know of numbers for anywhere else, please, as this seems a useful service.
Quillan
It says it's an international helpline and our number is not 05 so it does not matter where you are. All they do is listen to your problem then call your local engineers and arrange an appointment for you while you wait. There is no actual first person technical support on this number. Hereford
Many thanks, have written this down. The only time we had a problem we spoke to the ordinary line on our phone bill but this will be a useful back-up.
