Abbaye
Hi all, we are in need of someone to bombard with questions regarding starting a stonemasonry business here in Brittany - can anyone recommend someone on the lines of "Oui can Help"?Thanks.Mandy

Sue56
We use both "Oui Can Help" and "Savoir Faire". The latter particularly useful as they are based in Brittany and been very helpful. e-mail savoirf@aol.comTelephone/fax 02 97 26 65
Val_2
You really need to go and see your local Chambre de Metiers which is compulsory for starting a "manual" business in France and take it from there. We did and survived it all years ago and so did many others on this forum. You really need to get the info from the french authorities themselves as regards to cotisations, accountants, insurances for work and guarantee etc and usually these are not available readily to some organisation which may be in another country or dept regarding your particular family. Remember that starting up as an artisan is not cheap in France and you will be forever paying out for something or other all the time, but there are compensations for a better quality of life and compulsory pension and health schemes for when you retire.
