Howie
Hello everyone. We have a property for renovation in Nivillac community in S. Brittany. It already has an acre of land but we are thinking of making an offer to the farmer for the adjacent 2.5 acres. However, we really don't know what this land is worth?! It is classed as agricultural land and the whole plot itself is 2.5 acres. I don't think the land is A1 arable land as this area only really grows animal feed and hay. Most land (including this plot) is used for grazing cows.Has anyone got an idea how much I should offer per acre for a small plot like this?Appreciate any help offered!Regards,Howard.UK Home: Torbay, Devon.French Home: Nivillac, Morbihan(56)
Chrisb
Try your local Notaires - they should be able to give you an idea of the currrent price of land for your area. Were you aware that the sale of agricultural land has to go through SAFER which is an agricultural body safeguarding the farmers. They will offer the land to local farmers who will have a priority option to buy. You could probably guarentee being able to buy the land by offering a sum some way above it's market value!
