Now is the season when groups start to meet again. Perhaps you could join a special interest group, a choir, rambling group, language class or anything else that meets locally. This way you would have a break from your husband, find new friends, learn new skills and probably improve your French without realising it.all the best and bon courageGill
Russethouse
Brenda, Please don't think you are alone in finding it difficult being with your partner 24/7. Its one of the things that lots of people fail to take into account when they start their new life in France. It can take a bit of adjustment!!Good Luck
pagnol
BrendaThis phenomenon is not unusual. Men only have a very small store of words to use in the day, women have many. If you don't use your words up it can be very distressing. After a long period of silence turn to him and say ' For goodness sake be quiet. Don't you ever stop talking?'This very often provokes a guilty response and a conversation will follow. Seriously, it is difficult until you find some local friends to chat to. Bon Courage! Battypuss
If you get really *issed off, look under Sanderson in the St Lô section of the phone book (50). The post office will have a copy if you don't. Been there....
