Hereford
HelloI see from the "Gazette" this week that there is a Patchwork (and other needlework) club in Avranches. Report on page 18.Is anyone out there a member, or would like to be? I would prefer to go as a new girl with someone (English or English speaking), not alone. I have not contacted them yet. I realise this sounds wimpish but I would be much the same even in the UK.Thanks(mrs) Hereford
GRT17
Just pluck up the courage and go and make some new French friends. I am sure the natives will be friendly!A Fr. friend of mine has just opened a patchwork shop in Dinan but I realise this is probably too far for you to travel.Bon CourageGill
SaligoBay
Just do it!http://www.francepatchwork.com/http://www.quiltersguild.org.uk/contents/international/overseaevents.htmArm yourself with some quilty mags from the tabac, and off you go - in the extremely unlikely event that no-one talks to you, you can sit and read them!If there are already Brits in your area, the chances are there will be some English-speakers there already. All the groups work differently - some are Nazi-like in their insistence that everyone does the same project, some (like ours) tend towards anarchy, with everyone doing their own thing, usually very noisily.Bon courage
