Diana
After a very cold and wet week, last nights strong winds seem to have blown that all away. We are now left with reasonably blue skies and a very high wind. (Oxford area.) We are off to Normandy on the Friday overnight PO, Portsmouth to Cherbourg ferry and was wondering what to expect when we arrive. This same weekend 2 years ago there were terrible storms and the ferries were cancelled. We were having our house warming party and had invited about 30 UK friends to join us and our French friends for a Saturday night party. Monday evening we still had about 15 of them stranded, either still staying with us or in local hotels. Diana
Val_2
Right at this moment (Roscoff end) it is blue skies and sunshine, a warm southerly wind but very very windy and forecast of more gales to come over the next few days. The sea was rough this morning and personally I wouldn't want to be out on it.

Alexis
Blowing a gale and chucking it down here, top of Morbihan/Cote d'Armor. Not a good forcast either.
Annabell
Well its lovely here today, no heating on and the windows and front door open, letting in the lovely fresh air.Blue skies and a slight breeze. Mind you, a friend arrived lastnight and her crossing was awful. Reckon you'll be alright tonight though.Annabell (53)
Will
I quite agree with Annabell about it being like summer today - and I was on the Portsmouth-Caen ferry overnight which was fine (though I think the previous Caen-Portsmouth run might have been a bit rough in places). Alexis
Hope that Diana doesn't arrive to find no electricity. Was it 30,000 or 300,000 cut off with the storms in Normandy?
