Do not miss Gardening Days at Doullens, its one of the largest plant festivals in Northern france, it is on the 4th-5th June.    We went last year brilliant, there is still time to get some bits for summer flowering along with a few unusual and different types of plant,  the stall holders are so helpful lots of free advice and tips.  I think this year the entry cost is 5 euros, but you can always check by ringing 03 22 77 71 94

I was in Doullens on Friday, and was sorry to miss the weekend do.  In fact a British couple at the B&B I was staying in near Hesdin last week were going to have a stall there selling plant labels and other paraphernalia.  They did it last year, and said it was very profitable for them - even coming all the way from Devon!

I have been visiting loads of gardens in Pas de Calais and Picardie, as this is the best time for them.  Have seen some wonderful ones...

Herbarium at St-Valery sur Somme
Maizicourt (not far from Doullens)
Sericourt (near Frevent)
Le Jardin de Marie-Ange (near St-Pol sur Ternoise)
Manoir d'Henocq (near Montreuil-sur-Mer)
didn't have time to go back to the Jardin de Valloires, but I bet that looked wonderful...
