annie1
Do not miss Gardening Days at Doullens, its one of the largest plant festivals in Northern france, it is on the 4th-5th June. We went last year brilliant, there is still time to get some bits for summer flowering along with a few unusual and different types of plant, the stall holders are so helpful lots of free advice and tips. I think this year the entry cost is 5 euros, but you can always check by ringing 03 22 77 71
Loiseau
I was in Doullens on Friday, and was sorry to miss the weekend do. In fact a British couple at the B&B I was staying in near Hesdin last week were going to have a stall there selling plant labels and other paraphernalia. They did it last year, and said it was very profitable for them - even coming all the way from Devon!I have been visiting loads of gardens in Pas de Calais and Picardie, as this is the best time for them. Have seen some wonderful ones...Herbarium at St-Valery sur SommeMaizicourt (not far from Doullens)Sericourt (near Frevent)Le Jardin de Marie-Ange (near St-Pol sur Ternoise)Manoir d'Henocq (near Montreuil-sur-Mer)didn't have time to go back to the Jardin de Valloires, but I bet that looked wonderful...Angela
