paradis
I have been trying to find a choral/choir group in the Flers/Domfront area. Can anyone help? I would prefer mixed French/English but all French or all English would be OK
Will
I would have expected Domfront to have something like that - have you tried asking in the English bookshop there?Alternatively, athough a bit west of your desired area, is www.afactp.org. It is an Anglo-French association with an active (bilingual) singing group.
paradis
Thanks for your reply. Is the English Bookshop the one more or less opposite Credit Agricole? I know they sell English newspapers there? I think the web site you mentioned is based on an area too far away. Thanks anyway. I might just have to start up a group myself! Will
No, I think it's in one of the narrow streets in the old town, up the hill from where you are thinking of. I haven't been there, so maybe somebody else can give you a proper address or directions.
LaBucherie
Stand outside the church, with your back to the door, and walk straight ahead past the bar on the corner. The bookshop is on your right. I think it's the rue Saint Julien.
paradis
Thanks for two replies re English Bookshop in Domfront, however, I hate to tell you that the shop has been closed down for some time, probably a few years!
Tony the Turner
An English friend who is a resident in our village near Flers sings with a local group. As I am virtually tone deaf, I have no idea how good they are. He is called Richard Poupart and his e:mail address is: rpoupart@wanadoo.fr
Roger
Don't know if you are interested, but I've been singing with a choir in Flers for the last year. Everyone is French apart from me - but this doesn't seem to be a problem!By chance - we are giving our first concert of the season this Sat. 11th at Messei in the church at 8.30pm. So you are welcome to come along and see what you think - mind you - being the first one, it may be a bit rough! We will be doing a concert most months in the area surrounding Flers until the summer break - so we are learning new pieces as we go alongThe choir is called La Lyre and we meet each Tuesday evening at 8.00 til 10.00 at the salle de fetes at flers. If you can't make the concert but are interested - let me know and I could take you to a rehearsal.Fiona
