Thejohnsons
Hi Tom Sorry for the delay in replying to your request for information, but all the resorts around the Bay of ST.Michel are sandy and safe in shore. However the tide goes out a long way and there are quicksands further out. One can walk to Mont St Michel at low tide. But it is dangerous. There are tours to Mont St. Michel across the sand, but this walk should only be done with a recognised guide, due to the speed of the in-coming tide and quicksands..The sandy beaches continue along the bay through Carrolles, Julloville and St Pair -sur-Mer and around the headland at Granville and along the coast going north up the Contentin Peninsula. So your friends have several excellent beaches to chose from , all with great sandy beaches and easy driving distance of St. Jean Le Thomas. The main word of warning is the need to bring Sun Umbrellas as there is very little shade to protect both adults and children from the sun.I hope your friends have a great holiday.Kind Regards Colin Johnson19 rue de Fougeres Saint James 50240
