cassie
I am moving to Brittany soon, to the Dinan area. Does anyone know of a protestant church where I can attend services. It could be anywhere in the Dinan Dinard or Rennes area. Help!!

Loiseau
Here's a link to the Anglican churches in Europe. Spool down to find France; there seems to be one in Dinard and occasional services held in some smaller places in Brittany. http://www.europe.anglican.org/directory/webdir1.htmlThe Dinard one has its own website http://cira.tees.ac.uk/stbarts/I didn't see anything about choirs though.Angela

Nick Trollope
Isn't there an Anglican (in an American sense) church in Quevert, Dinan? The Pastor is certainly English-speaking (being an American) I am assured he is good-looking, too. Not really my field of expertise, but I may be able to find a telephone number next time I pass. cassie
Wondered if anyone could tell me if they have had experience of the above subject. I have been advised to arrange for a notaire to change my marriage contract to a communaute universelle, as my husband and myself are buying a house in france. Apparently this avoids one partner's half of the property attracting tax, when the other partner dies. It also It also allows the deceased's half of the property to automatically go to the survivor. Anyone know of any drawbacks.?? Jonk
alnmike
As I had been married previously, my main concern was to ensure that my husband would inherit our French House if anything happened to me. The inheritiance laws might have given precedence to others - although we do not have any children. Rather than tontine, our English speaking French solicitor recommeneded the CU, which we did at the notaires prior to our house purchase. Cost was about €50 I seem to remember. There has been much on this in the Legal forum! You mention you have been advised - if this is by a professional with knowledge of the French legal system then I would have no issues! I can suggest a French solicitor (english speaking) if you would like further advice.
Monika
Alnmike: We want to do a CU (but we have already purchased house) and we would be grateful if you could give us the name and address of your English Speaking French Solicitor. Thank you in advance.
Poppy
We obtained a CU last year. We had already owned the house for a few years so had to use the Notaire. Cost was 900 Euros, majority of fee was tax payable on value of house now.JanLost in the Lot
Loiseau
Dear AngelaThanks so much for the info ...Will I see you in church?
Fraid not, jonk. When I am not living in London, I am based in the Vendee - and only know about that organisation because I carry a list on my website ( www.the-vendee.co.uk ) of current Anglican services in the Vendee. Glad it was useful though.Angela
