Chrisb
We went about three years ago, it was very straightforward - the hardest bit is getting across Paris! You can go directly from Carentan to Paris, but with some journeys you have to change at Caen.If you pop into the staion in Carentan, they are very friendly and helpful - I have booked several tickets there, and they have always tried really hard to get me the best possible deal!Have a lovely time!Chris
cathyb
We have gone to Paris in the summer from Carentan for 3 years now and it works very well. You can buy tickets on the day or in advance (I can't recall the train being full). We did Eurodisney in 06 - kids loved it, can't say the adults did, give me legoland anyday. Can recommend Paris Plage and Jardin de Luxembourg though - the latter has a great play area for under 12s and model boating lake with little sail boats you can hire.Cathy
Georgina
Watch out for the strikes planned on 12th and 20th - we were going until we realised there might not be any trains.
Gardian
Not the 20th? Sons + future DIL supposed to be travelling down that day. Hells bells.
Georgina
It's not definite but they are supposed to be striking on 12th too but these are all dependent on negotiations. I have not heard anything since. Does anyone have an update on the New Year strikes planned at the airports in England?Georgina
