katietom
Can anyone give us any advice? We're hoping to cme down to region 87 / 23 over Easter from our holiday cottage in brittany. We're thinking of buying there because we've heard the weather in summer is a little more reliable! Is this the case?! Also, if we do come, can anyone recommend any cheap, but cheerful B&B's we could stay at? Hope someone out there can help! Katie
Alcazar
Cheep and cheerful? Well you could try the Hotel De la Gare at Bellac, they don't come much cheaper, and olde worlde doesn't even start to say it......... Reminds me of hotels in France in the 60's We also stayed at the Hotel Argos at StJunien. Both towns have good Immobilieres. Try Val De Vienne at StJ, and Bellac Immobilier at Bellac, both have English speaking staff if you need 'em. 87 is a lovely region.Alcazar

Mimi
Hello Katie My wife ( who is french ) works in a local estate agent and I am sure would be able to help. I am unable to give you contact details on line as that would be classed as advertising . If you send us an e-mail we might be able to point you in the right direction ? We recently moved down to the Bellac area as we fell in love with the countryside etc ..usual stories . The weather does tend to be dryer and hotter in the summer months . Winter tends to be a bit colder but as with the whole of france this year we have not done to well . Normaly it is about 3-4 degrees warmer from spring onwards and the Summer lasts abit longer normaly as well Summer temperatures can be scorchers !. This is information gained from locals who have been here for a while . As for B&Bs well I could recommend one in the town that we stayed in , It all depends on how long you are looking to stay for really . The one we stayed in when we first were looking at the area , is very pleasant . A typical bellac house .The owners speak a little french and have helped us out in settling in to the area .our e-mail is mimi.overton@wanadoo.fr or alexover@topchat-o.comGood LuckRegards Alex & (mimi)
les chenauds
Have a look at our website. www.leschenauds.com. Most of our B&B guests have found property locally and we try our best to help.
CarolB
Hi I'm also looking for B/B just after easter, we have up until now used gites, but not every owner likes to let for 3/4 days even though it's out of high season. Doing a couple of days here and there lets us move around . So anyone offering! Carol.
rpal
When we were buying I stayed at a lovely inexpensive B&B in Boussac (in Creuse 23)... La Courtepoint. Mme. Gros is charming, the place has a wonderful view of the Chateau, and you can get to quite a lot of areas from there. She even takes bookings by Internet... http://perso.wanadoo.fr/courtepointe/ Good luck!
Bassman
If you're coming to the Creuse/L'indre area, a great place to stay id "L'Augette" a B&B situated on the D940 which is the main drag from LaChatre to Gueret. Rooms are great, food is great and company is great, (the ownwers) You can get their details and see some pics of the place by searching for Augette on the net (you have to drop the apostrophy L to find it. We've stayed there about six times so far whilst we were looking for our house. Highly reccommeded.Bassman

Alcazar
Have a look through the numerous replies to the post in this thread about 87,23,16.I'm sure much of it will be relevant, and the website I've mentioned should give you a good idea of the weather, and the Limousin's 6 (yes, six!) micro-climates.Alcazar

Will
I agree that it looks useful. My one concern is that having given an e-mail address to sites like this I then get bombarded by loads of other stuff I DON'T want - you know, Viagra, US mortgages, fake Rolexes etc. etc. (and far worse). Is this site safe in this respect? Can you actually unsubscribe from ALL the various offers? Will (50)
