hoverfrog
we have several luminescent bugs, at ground level in grassy areas, that are flourescent green in colour! Small (for a change!) but very bright. I know fireflies are yellow - and they fly around, so does anyone know what these are? They appear to pump themselves up & down to make the light brighter, and looked like spiders to me but it was dark.... and I'm a wimp!

hoverfrog
thanks for the reply - I will look them up on the net!The one I usually see is in the same place night after night, and only visible after dark (i.e. when I go and put the chickens to bed!) I did see another a few days ago, but as that one was in the chicken 's area I don't suppose it lasted long as they eat anything within range (of a certain size...)Obviously my upbringing - although multicultural and I had thought continental, missed a few bits!! Come to think of it, I can't remember either of my parents discussing bugs available continentally - by post anyone???
