Jonzjob
We intend to go up to the Loire and have a gander at some of the big 'ouses on the Loire for a few days at the end of this month and are looking for some suggestions of where the best place will be to stay for say 4 nights. It's over our 4 3/4 aniversary, 19 years of wedded bliss, 'onest guv, would I lie to you?Seriously for once. We want to be able to have a look around some of the wondeful chateau along the river. We have had a quick look, a couple of daze, 15 or so years back and wish to see more. A nice, not too expensive hotel in a central looking place would be ideal?Any ideas please? Nothing above 400€/night, less than 100€ preferable [:-))]Ta in advance [kiss][blink]
Théière
Hi John, wow what a smashing break, I don't personally know of any as I stay at my own and that's not a Hotel but this guide may help a bit.
Pierre ZFP
Not stayed HERE but saw it from the outside and thought Ooooo (It's at Tours so pretty central for the Loire)Slightly over your budget at €130 ish but is does look nice - also, plenty of other hotels to be found on Trivago.co.uk
Hereford
So: you got married on 29th February 1996?We too have seen the hotel Pierre suggested but not stayed there. Our son had a flat very near to it when he spent a year at Tours uni in 1994 on an Erasmus exchange.Very good place to be for seeing the Chateaux. Have a great time wherever you decide to stay. woolybanana
Better check in advance that chateaux, hotels etc are open. Some (not all) close for the winter season which can last until just before Easter
Jonzjob
That hotel looks quite good, if a likkle above what we want to pay. The biggest downer for us is it being in the middle of Tours. When we were taveling up and down on holls before we moved over I think I found every which way through Tours. A different way each time and with a caravan it was quite exciting at times!![:-))]We won't be deciding until the last minute Wooly and it will depend on what the weather is doing. If it's like it is at the mo then we will wait until the Artic has gone back home [:'(] The temp has shot up to 0ºC here at the mo with a wind chill at -5ºC!! So sod that for a holliday!
