Jacqui Too
My French teacher told me about this site this evening, she thought it might be useful for me now I have a property in France.http://www.genius-laposte.frHas anyone got any experience of using it and is it worth buying a carte for €36 ?Bien entendu, il est tout en français.[8-)]Edit: ooops forgot the link
Will
It's the cheque emploi system, where you employ people to do various small jobs around the house and garden, and pay them with a special cheque which debits your account with the obligatory social security charges. All banks operate the system - this is La Poste's version. The site actually gives a very good resumé of the sort of work that can be done under the system. Will
You are right, it does go a stage further, that's where the La Poste version seems to differ from the other banks, as far as I know. It appears that if you subscribe via the card, you can then call a phone number and tell them what you need. Then within 48 hours you should be contacted by a worker on La Poste's list, with whom you agree the terms for the job. There are two levels of service - the higher one (36€ per year) gives you as many worker contacts as you need, the lower one (15€) has an extra fee payable each time you use it after the first time. It seems that you can get a 50% refund of the cost of the card via your tax.The workers on La Poste's list appear to be 'approved' - it's probably on the site somewhere but I didn't notice how one gets approved; if it's not too difficult it could be a good opening for those wanting to offer odd jobs in the home to earn some money. Jacqui Too
Thanks WillI will have another look at it when I get time, but I understood form my teacher that the service is quite new and was for both employer and employee,Obviously any one that has to be qualified to do a job will have to prove it eg. part-time electrician or plumber, then they could in theory not start up a micro but have taxes paid via the cheque d'employ method. Assuming you could get enough work through the scheme. My interest would be for finding local people to carry out non-artisan jobs like gardening, ect.
