mint
Union Jack T-shirt? I have! Some young boy bequeathed it to me and, not only does it have the Union Jack on it, it also reads "The Next Generation"!I think it's pretty cool for St George's Day and I now know that I have a future as well as a past! JayJay
But it should be St George Cross not the Union Jack or flag today! [Www]
mint
True, JayJay, but what with me being a lapsed Catholic and all, I'm not, strictly speaking, allowed to wear any old cross, you understand![:(]
JayJay
[blink] Hang on, the clue being in the 'lapsed'!!
mint
Apart from the Pope, I don't think you'd find many people at the present time owning up to being practising Catholics! Now, don't take offence please, Catholics, this is only a bit of light bantering...
Chancer
I seem to recall that the correct name is the union standard or was it flag?
mint
Dunno, Chancer. Not only that, as I am honorary Welsh, on account of having gone to University there and lived there for a number of years, I feel obliged to point out that Wales is NOT represented on said flag![:(]
Pierre ZFP
Aw but it was just a miunderstanding with the graphic artist on the original flag. When he was told to Drag 'n Drop that's just what he did [;-)]
Kitty
So, S17, what do you think about what Nick Clegg said yesterday. That he wasn't a man of faith but that he thought that the Catholic priests would have to atone for their sins of child abuse etc.
mint
What they have done is unspeakable, Cathy. Not only the actual perpetrators (nuns involved in child abuse as well, I think) but the bishops and those above who have shielded them and then allowed them to go on to other parishes and places where they were free to carry on where they left off. It's just too horrible to think about and I don't really know what atonement there could be that would be sufficient. Kitty
I wasn't sure that it was territory that Nick Clegg should get involved with. It was also strange that he had to preface it by saying that he is not a man of faith.
Alan Zoff
Don't know about atonement. A ton cement, as in buried in, would be more appropriate. B****y hypocrites, the lot of 'em.
Keni
Remember who Nick Clegg is married to - hence the remark one feels....
